We are seeking a dedicated School Receptionist to join a dedicated admin team and provide an efficient reception and switchboard service.

As the first point of contact for all visitors to the school, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.?

Receptionist/ Administrator

Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

Part- Time (Term Time Only)

Working hours 08.00 -12.00

Salary: £15.00 per hour

Day to Day Duties:

  • Operate the school reception/ switchboard, handling all calls with professionalism and courtesy, taking messages, and ensuring their transmission.
  • Welcome all visitors, staff, parents, and students in a friendly manner, ensuring adherence to safeguarding procedures.
  • Collect and manage safeguarding documentation, liaising with the HR Manager as necessary.
  • Maintain the reception/ switchboard area and adjacent meeting rooms, ensuring they are tidy and well-presented.
  • Provide general administrative support, including word processing, dispatching post, and drafting student references.
  • Assist with deliveries, ensuring safe storage of packages and arranging the reception cover rota.
  • Undertake shared general academy administrative tasks and contribute to the improvement of academy operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent punctuality and attendance record.
  • Professional demeanour with reception experience, ideally in a school setting.
  • Ability to think on one’s feet and show initiative.
  • Good administrative and word processing skills.
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and a team player.
  • Quick to learn and discreet in handling sensitive information.
  • Willingness to undertake first aid training and administer first aid once qualified.
