JOB TITLE: Medical Receptionist

INDUSTRY: Private Medical

CONTRACT: Permanent

SALARY: up to £32,000

LOCATION: West End (5 days a week in the office)

Responsibilities:

  • Answering telephone calls and addressing inquiries promptly and efficiently.
  • Taking messages and responding to emails in a timely manner.
  • Handling correspondence and maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Registering patients and organising and maintaining both paper and electronic files.
  • Using the DGL Practise Manager computer system to update and obtain patient information.
  • Liaising with consultants, secretaries, and other agencies to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Scheduling appointments, procedures, and tests, coordinating with internal and external departments.
  • Preparing clinics by ensuring necessary lists are faxed or emailed to relevant locations.
  • Keeping the Practise Manager informed about clinic-related issues and any complaints.
  • Collecting appointment deposit payments via phone and credit card machine.
  • Managing and organising the diary to ensure efficient scheduling.
  • Performing audio typing and data entry tasks.
  • Assisting patients with queries regarding prescriptions, test results, and other concerns.
  • Demonstrating multitasking skills and adaptability in a dynamic work setting.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software, including electronic medical records.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work environments.
