This role is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the schools operations, supporting recruitment processes, absence management, and other HR administrative tasks. The successful candidate will work closely with the HR Manager to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of HR services in line with Safer Recruitment standards. You will be part of a supportive and dynamic team, committed to fostering a positive and inclusive working environment. Key Responsibilities Recruitment: Coordinate the recruitment process, including posting job adverts, collating applications, and organising interviews. Support shortlisting processes for teaching and non-teaching roles. Manage pre-employment checks and ensure personnel files comply with Safer Recruitment and DBS standards. Maintain the Single Central Register and organise inductions for new starters. Absence Management and Staffing Cover: Monitor staff absence emails and allocate cover for both pre-arranged and emergency absences. Manage absence data using BromCom and eDays systems. Generate absence reports and highlight trends to the HR Manager. Ensure line managers complete Return to Work interviews. HR Administration: Support probation, appraisal, and flexible working request processes. Draft employment-related documents, such as promotion or pay award letters. Ensure compliance with DBS repeat checks and GDPR standards for staff data. Coordinate staff training schedules, maintain compliance training records, and oversee new staff onboarding. Contribute to the preparation of the annual staff workforce census. General Support Across the School: Provide flexible support in other areas of the school, such as covering Reception, assisting in the Canteen, or invigilating exams as needed. Person Specification Essential Criteria: Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) including Maths and English. Experience in a HR role or administrative role with HR elements. Strong communication skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion in handling confidential matters. Proficient IT skills, including data input and report preparation.
