We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Accommodation Solutions Officer to join a dynamic housing team. You will play a key role in supporting individuals and families in temporary accommodation, helping them access suitable and sustainable housing options while ensuring compliance with housing policies and regulations.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by assisting homeless households, managing tenancy issues, and working closely with landlords and partner agencies to secure long-term accommodation solutions.

Key Responsibilities
路Provide housing options advice to households in temporary accommodation, helping them secure permanent housing.
路Assist residents with benefit applications, tenancy sustainment, and access to floating support services.
路Conduct suitability assessments for accommodation placements and facilitate storage and removals when necessary.
路Signpost and refer households to relevant agencies, such as employment and training providers, social services, and supported housing teams.
路Monitor and support residents to comply with their tenancy agreements, addressing breaches such as anti-social behaviour, arrears, and illegal subletting.
路Conduct regular tenancy checks and investigations to ensure properties are used appropriately.
路Assist with emergency transfers, Notice to Quit (NTQ) processing, and key returns.
路Manage complaints and enquiries from residents, MPs, councillors, and advocacy groups, ensuring timely responses.
路Work closely with landlords, accommodation providers, and internal teams to resolve tenancy-related issues.
路Support the implementation of temporary accommodation tenancy audits and enforcement actions.
路Contribute to policy development and service improvement projects within the Housing Needs team.
路Ensure compliance with housing legislation, safeguarding policies, and council regulations.

About You
路Strong understanding of homelessness legislation, welfare reform, and housing needs policies.
路Experience in frontline housing services, working with vulnerable households.
路Ability to manage a high-volume caseload, making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
路Experience in handling tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour cases, and legal housing matters.
路Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage with tenants, landlords, and support agencies.
路Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
路Ability to manage conflicting priorities and work independently.
路A commitment to equal opportunities and customer service excellence.
路GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
路A housing-related qualification (e.g., CIH Level 3/4) is desirable but not essential.
