The Company

A leading renewable energy developer with a strong track record in delivering large-scale projects across the UK and Europe is expanding its team. With a multidisciplinary in-house approach, the company specialises in solar, battery storage, wind, and data centre projects. They are seeking a Consents Manager to play a crucial role in securing approvals for nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs) and ensuring smooth project progression.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing planning team and take ownership of the Development Consent Order (DCO) and Consents Management process. Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will manage the consents and approvals required for infrastructure projects, liaise with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with relevant planning and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Consents & Approvals Management - Oversee all consents, permits, and regulatory requirements for renewable energy projects.
Regulatory Compliance - Stay up to date with planning laws, environmental standards, and permitting processes.
Stakeholder Engagement - Build relationships with local authorities, statutory consultees, and internal teams to facilitate approvals.
Risk & Strategy - Identify potential risks to project consents and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
Project Coordination - Work closely with developers, land teams, and technical specialists to integrate consent requirements into project timelines.
Continuous Improvement - Enhance processes for consent management and drive best practices.

The Ideal Candidate

Proven experience consenting NSIPs with a solid understanding of the DCO process.
3-5 years' experience in consents management, environmental permitting, or regulatory compliance within renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction.
Strong understanding of EIA processes, planning law, and environmental legislation.
Effective project management skills with the ability to prioritise, manage budgets, and coordinate multiple projects.
Experience working with local governance, national planning policy, and sustainability regulations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Degree in town planning, environmental discipline, or similar.
Full UK driving licence (site visits required).
Project Management qualification (desirable).
