Are you ready to lead the charge in transforming Great Britain's energy system? Our client, a pivotal organisation in the utilities sector, is seeking a talented and visionary Policy & Change Lead to join their ambitious journey towards a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
As the energy landscape evolves, the GB Connections process is set for a significant transformation to support the government's Clean Power by 2030 target. In December 2024, our client unveiled groundbreaking policy proposals designed to revolutionise how customers connect to the grid. The Policy & Change team plays a critical role in bringing this vision to life, bridging Strategy, Change Delivery, Operational Teams, and IT.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will serve as a Connections Senior Strategy Lead, focusing on the tactical policy changes essential for Connections Reform and the Clean Power by 2030 initiative. Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and developing tactical policy changes needed to facilitate Connections Reform.
- Collaborating closely with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Leading the planning, coordination, and implementation of these tactical changes.
- Identifying future gaps and developing actionable plans to address them.
- Delivering comprehensive papers and briefing notes for senior decision-makers.
- Communicating progress on Connections Reform to external stakeholders in a clear and engaging manner.
About You:
We are looking for a proactive and curious individual who possesses excellent problem-solving and presentation skills. Your qualifications will ideally include:
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with arrangements for connecting major generation and demand to the network (desirable but not essential).
- Analytical Thinking:
- Proven ability to use both quantitative and qualitative evidence to form thoughtful, independent viewpoints.
- Capability to analyse and present complex issues to diverse audiences, regardless of their familiarity with power systems and markets.
- Proficiency in Excel.

- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal abilities to influence and collaborate effectively across the organisation, ensuring buy-in to priorities and driving delivery through others. - Project Management:
