Butler Rose is working with one of the largest housing associations in London and the South-East in their search for a Service Charge Officer to contribute to their vision of delivering high-quality service charges to residents. This is a contract role till March 2025 with hybrid working (3 days in the office) and will pay £22.24 PAYE an hour to the successful candidate. This role will contribute to our client's vision of delivering transparent, accurate, and high-quality service charges to residents. Service charges are at the heart of resident satisfaction, and in this role, you will take responsibility for preparing and delivering service charge accounts for a designated region. Key Responsibilities: * Delivering accurate service charge accounts within your region, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. * Collaborating with local officers to align service charge accounts with on-the-ground property requirements. * Supporting and motivating operational staff to effectively communicate service charge breakdowns to residents. * Explaining service charge processes and accounts in a clear, accessible, and inclusive manner to both residents and colleagues. * Proactively identifying risks and proposing solutions to improve service quality and resident satisfaction. * Building and managing effective relationships with stakeholders across various teams. What our client is looking for: * Proven understanding and experience of working compliantly with different service charge regimes (fixed and variable). * Experience interpreting tenancy agreements, leases, and deeds of transfer. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex processes clearly. * Strong IT skills, including proficiency in advanced Excel. * A solution-focused approach with the ability to identify risks and proactively address them. * A commitment to continuous service improvement and resident advocacy.
