Reprographics Assistant

Duration: ASAP - 26TH July 2024

Start date: ASAP ideally Thursday 30th May 2024

Terms: 35 hours per week

9.30am to 5.30pm with one hour unpaid lunch, Monday to Friday except for Bank Holidays and School Closures.

The Reprographics Department is a small team working in a busy office environment and is responsible for producing a large percentage of the School's digital copy and print requirement often to tight deadlines.

Reprographics Department also provides printing, copying and scanning services to students, staff and faculty via MFDs located in various locations around the school campus including Halls of Residences.

The service uses 129 MFDs working with Papercut print management system.

Job Summary:

  • Reporting to the Reprographics Manager, the Reprographics Assistant is responsible for the maintenance of the School's fleet of photocopiers/MFDs ensuring that all fully stocked with consumables - paper, toner and staples (if applicable). This will be done on a routine basis, monitoring both open-access and departmental devices.
  • Monitoring all MFDs through SRDM monitoring software for stock requirements and faults
  • Delivering paper around campus, replacing toners and attending MFDs, helping users staff and students to print.
  • To rectify minor faults (e.g. jammed paper) and escalate to engineer callout when appropriate.
  • Dealing with varied general enquires face-to-face, over the phone or by e-mail exploring customer needs and using appropriate sources of information to answer questions;
  • Supporting the print operator with basic finishing (training will be given) such as: thermal binding, spiral binding folding, creasing, print boxing & labelling. General help around the department using various printing and finishing equipment such as digital printers, wide format printers, thermal and coil binders, guillotine, folders, encapsulates, packing printed materials cleanly and accurately and delivering printed matter around campus.
  • Delivering of printed matter throughout the campus
  • To work as part of a team, supporting other team members and liaising with colleagues in Reprographics
