A superb Luxury award winning uniform design company is looking to appoint an ambitious and experiencedHead of Product Development Manager. You will lead a small team of Product Developers, manage pattern cutter and small sample workroom. You will be creative and be able to elevate designs as needed. They should have an eye for detail, be systemic, highly organised, be a proactive team player and leader. They should have a passion for producing high standard garments and accessories.


Responsibilities


  • Lease with the design team on style, fabric and trim details to create initial tech packs through to prototyping and fully working samples ready for client approval and production.
  • Source fabrics and trims and create the BOMs.
  • Manage in-house pattern cutters and sample machinists, in addition, to coordinating factories to produce the range of samples and manage the critical path and budgets.
  • Responsible for coordinating fabric testing, lab dips, and print strike-offs in collaboration with the production assistant.
  • Work with existing supply chains and build relationships with new ones.
  • Attend sample meetings with the client and make any amendments accordingly.
  • Liaise with supply chain and project manager for the delivery of samples.
  • Work within company procedures and build on these within the department.
  • Coach and train the team and others within the company


The Ideal Candidate


  • Confident with pattern cutting and garment construction knowledge.
  • Experience in both mens & womens tailoring, Fabric and trim knowledge and understanding are imperative.
  • To have good time management, a problem solver, a leader, an eye for detail,
  • Experience in dealing with factories both in the UK and abroad.
  • Understanding of critical paths. Budget management.
  • Positive can-do attitude and the ability to act quickly in a fast-paced environment.
