The Role:

Are you passionate about science and programme management? Holland & Barrett, a leading wellness retailer, is seeking an experienced Science Programme Manager to join our dynamic team! This pivotal role supports the integration of science across the business, ensuring successful execution of scientific initiatives that drive innovation, well-being, and operational excellence.

As a Science Programme Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of projects within the science team. You will act as the central point of contact for scientific project management, ensuring smooth collaboration between scientific experts, business owners, and senior leadership teams. This role requires someone with strong strategic planning and project management skills who can ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business goals.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with the scientific leadership team to define project goals and ensure alignment with organisational strategies.
  • Develop detailed project plans, roadmaps, and risk management strategies.
  • Monitor the progress of scientific initiatives, ensuring timelines, budgets, and scope are maintained.
  • Facilitate effective stakeholder communication at all levels, including executive-level engagement.
  • Prepare regular status reports, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and next steps.
  • Manage resources, forecasting costs, and ensuring external suppliers are contracted effectively.
  • Drive programme governance by leading meetings, designing workshops, and ensuring accountability for project deliverables.

Location: Based in London, this is a hybrid role with a requirement to be in the office 2 days per week.

The Person:

  • Proven experience in programme management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to align scientific initiatives with business strategy.
  • Excellent change management skills, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly proficient in programme/project management methodologies (Agile, PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Experience in science, healthcare, wellness, or similar sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
