The Queen of the South in Tulse Hlll is looking for a Bar Manager.

The Queen of the South is bought to you by the team behind the Prince of Peckham & we are a pub with food, a co-working space with live music, djs, private hire & music studio all under one roof. We celebrate the area of Tulse Hill and it's neighbouring areas in all their glories, past, present & future.

As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for the operation and supervision of the bars throughout the pub.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead the bar team with high energy and a hands-on approach.
  • Be a constant presence, engaging with both guests and staff.
  • Have an enthusiastic, warm, can-do, hands-on, and inspirational attitude.
  • Oversee daily bar operations of the pub.
  • Ensure the bar team is fully trained in all aspects of bar service.
  • Show excellent communication skills and the ability to work alongside the management team to develop ideas.
  • Staff recruitment and retention with effective management, motivation, and coaching of the team.
  • Strong financial acumen is essential, as you will have complete responsibility for your individual P&L, making financial and stock management experience essential.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • At least two years bar manager experience managing a high-volume venue.
  • A fun and engaging personality with a serious commitment to hospitality.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for learning and development.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with guests, staff, artists/djs and reporting to senior management.
  • Understanding of stocktaking, budgeting and GP levels.
  • Ambition to develop the venue.
