Job Summary/Objective: The Kitchen Manager/Chef role involves managing the kitchen and upholding the quality control system. Is is also responsible for ensuring all dishes are cooked to perfection, following recipes and presentation specifications. Additionally, responsibilities include maintaining quality control measures, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, managing inventory, assisting in kitchen cleanliness, fostering teamwork, and upholding company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities/Duties
Kitchen Management and Quality Control:
- Uphold rigorous quality control procedures to maintain product consistency and adherence to standards.
- Maintain strict quality control by checking dishes before they leave the kitchen.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff members, ensuring they follow recipes and procedures correctly
- Foster a positive and collaborative atmosphere by working closely with the entire team.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues to facilitate smooth workflow coordination.
- Oversee other staff members and ensure they are fulfilling their tasks properly
Cooking:
- Prepare, cook, and present all menu items up to the standards required by the company.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures for optimal cooking results.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Compliance with Health and Safety Standards:
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a secure workplace.
- Complete health and safety paperwork, including ensuring fridge and freezers temperatures are recorded twice a day.
- Enforce food safety and hygiene standards by ensuring all team members follow proper protocols.
- Promptly report any identified hazards or concerns to kitchen manager.
Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking food and non-food items.
- Receive deliveries (food items), verify accuracy, and oversee restocking of items.
- Ensure that all food and non-food items are stored correctly to prevent spillage.
- Supervise stock rotation to minimize waste and maintain profit margins
Dishwashing, Sanitization, Kitchen Organization, and Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Assist in dishwashing, sanitization, kitchen organization, and cleanliness when/if required.
Other:
- Maintain adherence to company policies and procedures, including uniform standards and attendance requirements.
- Assist other colleagues with tasks if/when needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A right attitude and willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated experience fully leading a small kitchen and mentoring junior staff.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Keen eye for detail and dedication to upholding elevated levels of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Effective communication abilities and adeptness at collaborating within a team.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if/as required.
- Right to work in the UK is mandatory.
- Level 1 and Level 2 Food Safety certificates. If you don't already have these certificates, we will cover the cost of your training during the first week to help you obtain them.
- 3-month probation period during which you'll evaluate if we're the right fit for you, and we'll assess if you're the right fit for us.

Pay: £34,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
