About Our Client

Assistant Store Manager (Retail) required by one of the UK's leading retailers for school supplies and accessories.

Job Description

  • Deal effectively with sale enquiries from customers over the telephone and face to face, advising and selling the range of available services to potential and existing customers. You will ensure every customer receives a world class shopping experience in the store. Leading by example, you will motivate the team to give genuine service to our customers & encourage them to maximise opportunities to up sell across all areas
  • Be able to work 42.5 hours a week
  • Complete all administrative tasks to ensure compliance with company procedures
  • Coordinate with the Buying & Merchandising team in head office to discuss stock movement and to ensure your store is operationally sound with effective stock management controls in place
  • Maintain a clean and tidy store with appropriate visual merchandising as directed by head office
  • Processing internet orders
  • Attend selling and PR events at various schools when required (some evening work)
  • Checking in deliveries and replenishing stock on the shop floor
  • Taking responsibility for the set up and control of store marketing tasks
  • Conducting daily floor walks & delegating effectively

  • Ambitious, motivated and be a great communicator across all levels
  • Easy travel into North West London
  • Have great leadership skills
  • Able to work well on your own as well as part of a team
  • Must be willing to work 5 days per week increasing to 6 during the peak time at the end of August/beginning of September with overtime pay
  • Excellent work ethic, lots of energy and desire to help customers
  • Be passionate about delivering a world class experience to our customers
  • Have previous experience at supervisor level looking for your next step up
