Business Development Manager - Events Software

Basic salary to 40,000, OTE 65,000 + benefits

Covering the UK but based around London and the M25.

My client provides software solutions for events, including delegate invitation and registration but also also provide a sponsor ticket and brand management solution which works well for sporting events and matches. After recent investment, they are looking for a sales professional to join the team and help maximise potential within existing customers as well as generate new business. If you have experience selling into events management organisations, or strong saas sales experience and are looking for a new challenge in a growing business this could be a fantastic opportunity!

The Role

  • Selling events management software into events agencies, sports marketing agencies and some end users.
  • The role is potentially national but a lot of customers would be based in and around the M25
  • This is a hybrid role, you'll need to be able to get into the office in London but can work from home a lot of the time once full up to speed.
  • It's a mix of new business and growing opportunities within existing customers
  • Most business is done via tender and proposals and at any given time there are a number to do from incoming enquiries
  • There isn't a sales team currently so this would be just you, engaging with customers and identifying opportunities. There is a lot of potential for more spend within the existing customer base and it's expected that this will be where some of the faster turnaround revenue will come from.

The Person:

  • An ideal fit would be someone with experience in the events space who understands it and is also technical enough to pick up software sales.
  • Alternatively, someone who has sold saas solutions into any niche market would work.
  • You'll be working in a small team that are not corporate in nature. There hasn't been a specific sales function until now so you'll need to be comfortable creating some processes and getting involved in the wider business when needed.
  • If you have experience with tenders and proposals this would be a huge benefit.
  • Overall we're looking for someone who can self generate new business leads but nurture relationships and dig out opportunities within current clients and their referrals.

The Package:

  • Basic salary is 35-40k
  • OTE is 60-65k
  • Pension
  • Life assurance
  • Medicash scheme
  • Other flexible benefits
  • This is a growing business who are part of a much larger group with fantastic mid to long term opportunities!
