Retail Sales Assistant, Arts & Heritage, London, £13.15 p/h plus holiday pay accrual.
Our client requires a reliable Retail Sales Assistant. You need to be available for the whole of December including bank holidays and New Years Day (excluding Christmas day).
The main duties of the Retail Sales Assistant role are:
- Welcome and positively engage every visitor
- Maintain visual merchandising standards across the shop
- Help exceed all retail sales targets
- Fully answer customer enquiries in a calm, professional manner, calling on support of the management team when appropriate
- Take pride in one’s appearance and personal presentation
- Operate the EPOS system in a secure and efficient manner
- Work as part of a team in a positive manner
- Responsible for health and safety and welfare of staff and customers, ensuring compliance with policies
- Conduct regular stocktakes
- Assist with deliveries
- Ensure that the shop is kept clean and tidy, and that stock is regularly replenished
Skills and experience
- Experience of working in a retail environment, or similar
- Confidence and ability to proactively sell in very busy environments and exceed target
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a passion for delivering great customer service
- Good visual merchandising skills and excellent recall of product knowledge
- Flexible approach to a range of retail tasks, e.g. fulfilling online orders and stockroom duties
- Team-spirited
