Our client, a Tier 1 contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Assistant to join their team at Victoria Station House. This role is crucial to supporting the commercial team on a variety of high-profile projects, with responsibilities in cost management, procurement, billing, and supply chain coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost and Value Reporting: Assist the Commercial Manager with Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and Project Summary reviews, ensuring accurate cost and value ledger tracking.
  • Procurement: Update subcontractor and supplier procurement packages as required, ensuring all procurement needs are current and well-documented.
  • Final Accounts Settlement: Manage final account settlements for subcontractor purchase orders and invoices, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Supply Chain Management: Schedule and chair supplier review meetings, ensuring strong supplier relations and efficient supply chain processes.
  • Change Management: Oversee all Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events, capturing all contract variations and ensuring accurate change management.
  • Billing: Handle reactive and planned maintenance billing, ensuring all variations are captured and accounted for, including compensation events, early warnings, and change control requests.
  • Payments and Invoicing: Review and approve payment applications and invoices from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely payments within established terms.
  • Debt Management: Support debt tracking and ensure outstanding balances are minimised through effective communication and follow-up.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in commercial assistance within the construction or infrastructure industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly with financial and procurement documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with project tracking and cost management software is advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
