We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Accounts Receivable Assistant to join a leading company in the music merchandising industry. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various finance functions, including Retail, Touring, and E-commerce accounting. Experience working on tours and exposure to touring accounts is essential to ensure smooth financial operations.Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up new customer accounts and verify details
  • Conduct credit checks for new clients
  • Generate and distribute customer statements
  • Chase outstanding payments and resolve any related queries
  • Reconcile bank accounts on a weekly basis
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries efficiently
  • Review, post, and dispatch draft retail invoices to customers
  • Create and manage contra reports for select customers
  • Reconcile and post quarterly contra balances
  • Support the Tour Accountant with processing tour sales sheets during peak periods
  • Handle band comps and process sales to the band
  • Perform stock reconciliations and make necessary adjustments
  • Manage tour recharge invoices
  • Process invoices and credit notes for e-commerce
  • Send invoices to customers promptly
  • Reconcile stock and make necessary adjustments
About You
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Prior experience in an Accounts Receivable role
  • Hands-on experience with touring accounts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
  • Proactive with a problem-solving mindset
Desirable Skills:
  • Basic accounting qualifications (AAT or early stages of CIMA/ACCA)
  • Experience with Xero
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
  • Experience posting accounting journals
  • Knowledge of the music merchandising industry is a plus
