  • VisionFR is looking for a Finance Assistant on a temporary assignment to join our client, a well-established PR and Comms Consultancy. You’d work in a close knit team of 3 in the finance team covering the day to day responsibilities and supporting the wider business.
  • Job Purpose
  • The agency is seeking a Finance Assistant to be responsible for accounts payable, billing and credit control. The role will provide support to the Finance Manager, and work closely with the finance team.
  • Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable
  • Processing payables invoices through to payment.
  • Paying staff expenses
  • Dealing with suppliers regarding payments.
  • Cashbook
  • Reconciling our HSBC bank accounts (GBP; USD; EUR)
  • Posting cash
  • Billing and Credit Control
  • Ensuring timely and accurate billing to clients of retainers, projects, and disbursements.
  • Maintaining a billing schedule to ensure all billing instructions are captured and correctly billed on to clients.
  • Liaising with client facing teams to ensure you are provided with clear billing instructions/schedules and copies of contracts.
  • Sending out monthly client debtor statements.
  • Contacting clients by email or phone to ensure our invoices are paid on time.
  • Liaising with the Finance Manager and CFO regarding collection issues.
  • Working with client facing teams as required to help resolve billing or collection issues.

  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Assisting the Finance Manager
  • Other responsibilities that may come up that are appropriate to this role and this level.

Candidate Profile:

  • An experienced finance assistant.
  • Prior agency or professional services experience.
  • Experience of working with overseas offices and billing and chasing foreign clients.
  • Broad accounts system experience (Paprika system experience essential).
  • Keen to work in a high growth, changing environment with the associated challenges.
  • A pro-active attitude and someone who is happy to work with minimal supervision and is a good team member.
  • IT literate, with competence in Excel.
  • Good people and communication skills.
