A well established and prestigious charity in London is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team on a six-month FTC basis with the view to become permanent. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient processing of all income aspects and maintaining accurate data within the CRM and finance system.

Duties and key responsibilities

Financial Monitoring & Reporting

  • Assist with preparing the monthly financial reports.
  • Processing financial data, accurately input purchase invoices, and manage credit control.
  • Ensure accurate import and reconciliation of all financial transactions.

Financial Controls - overseas operations

  • Review monthly bank reconciliations from overseas offices.
  • Ensure timely transfer of funds to overseas offices.
  • support finance staff in overseas offices.

System Administration

  • Act as the main administrator for the accounting system (Xledger) – setting up new users
  • Credit control, overseeing invoices and expenses on X Ledger

Financial Controls – London office

  • Manage all day-to-day financial accounting matters.
  • Ensure accuracy in all uploads to Xledger.
  • Support in the preparation and conduct of the annual audit process.

Person Specification

  • Highly organised: Meticulous attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Motivated and proactive: A self-starter who takes initiative and works well independently.
  • Collaborative: A team player who enjoys working with others to achieve shared goals.

Knowledge / Experience

  • Candidates with a keen interest in starting an accountancy qualification will be considered.
  • Intermediate Excel, and MS office skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and pro-active in seeking out answers to problems
  • Discretion and a proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
