FINANCE ASSISTANT FOR POPULAR NEWHAM BASED SCHOOL

This excellent secondary school in the heart of Newham are looking for a Finance Assistant to join their fantastic Finance office in a post which could start right away (negotiable). You will provide a support to the whole school staff, students and parents and therefore a friendly and efficient attitude is essential. Experience of working in a finance office is essential as well as confidence in using computerised finance systems.

About the Finance Assistant post: Main responsibilities

  • Administration of financial records for school visits, FSM and all other student income.
  • Raising invoices, reconciling payments received and following up outstanding invoices
  • Raising and issuing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers and investigating discrepancies.
  • Checking and processing payment of invoices
  • Checking, processing and reconciling petty cash
  • Maintaining various spreadsheets to record items of expenditure and income
  • Counting and preparing cash/cheques for banking
