Reed Accountancy are partnering with a growing tech firm to recruit an ambitious Finance Assistant to work alongside their Finance Director.  The Finance team is crucial in supporting the business' ambitious growth targets. As a Finance Assistant, you will be at the heart of financial operations, handling transactions, reconciling accounts, and playing a key role in financial reporting and controls.

From handling transactions to reconciling accounts, your role will be multi-faceted, offering excellent scope for learning and growth.

Key responsibilities of the role:
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and managing transactions for accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions regularly.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities, progressing to preparing journals and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with monthly payroll preparation and manage monthly payment runs.
  • Generate financial reports as required to support business decisions.
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to company policies and smooth operational transactions.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as directed by the Finance Director to support various projects and improve financial processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a hands-on finance role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Xero (preferable) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
