Key Responsibilities & Requirements; Finance Assistant - Local Government:
- Engagement and Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships and work collaboratively with various communities and partner organisations.
- Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality when exchanging information with the public, colleagues, and partners.
- SEND Knowledge: While knowledge of the role of professionals working with children and young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and their families is desirable, a strong understanding of the needs and development of children with SEND is preferred.
- Legislation Understanding: An awareness of SEND legislation is highly desirable.
Person Specification; Finance Assistant - Local Government:
- Communication Skills: Advanced ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to a diverse range of individuals.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to organise your own workload, ensuring that targets and deadlines are consistently met.
- Microsoft Excel Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel for data recording, maintenance, and financial data manipulation.
- Teamwork and Initiative: A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when necessary.
Skills and Experience; Finance Assistant - Local Government:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Intermediate).
- Solid understanding of financial procedures, including bank reconciliation, financial statements, and auditing procedures (Intermediate).
- Previous experience in a similar financial role, particularly account reconciliations (Intermediate).
