Accountancy Recruit is partnering a client to appoint a skilled and detail-orientated Finance Assistant. This is a part time, permanent position for 22.5 hours per week over 4/5 days and is fully remote.  The role would suit an Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper or Finance Officer experienced and comfortable working closely with the directors and supporting operational and customer service teams. The ideal candidate will have strong reconciliation, vendor and customer accounts, and some management accounts experience. The Finance Assistant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial records, keeping track of income and expenses.
  • Reconciling bank, vendor and customer accounts, and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Processing sales and purchase invoices, and entering them into the accounting system.
  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts and monthly reporting, including budgeting.
  • Preparing balance sheets and other financial statements.
  • VAT return preparation.
  • Supporting monthly payroll.
  • Managing general financial administration task
To be successful in this role the Finance Assistant will have the following skills and experience:
  • AAT qualified
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office package.
  • Experience with ERP / accounting package(s). Ideally MS Business Central.
  • Strong bookkeeping or accountancy experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed efficiently.
The salary advertised for this role is the full time equivalent and is a guideline, the salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
