Are you a confident Finance Assistant with prior experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reporting, and analysis, seeking an exciting opportunity to join a PE-backed business?
Our client is looking for a Finance Assistant to join a lean and agile finance team on a permanent basis, with one day in the office per week in London.
As the Finance Assistant, your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, proper authorisation, and timely execution of invoices, vendor payments, and expense reports.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and expedite payments.
- Manage the accounts receivable process, including customer billing, monitoring receivables, and proactively following up on outstanding payments to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales and Customer Success teams to promptly resolve billing queries and disputes.
- Generate reports on accounts payable and accounts receivable metrics for management review.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and cash management duties, including recording bank deposits and payments, updating and distributing cash receipts, and posting cash to bank accounts, AR, and AP ledger accounts.
- Assist in analysing cash flow, aging reports, and forecasting payment/collection trends.
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance financial processes and efficiencies.
- Prepare analytical and ratio analyses relevant to A/R, enabling management to gain a better understanding of collection progress.
Key experience and skills required as the Finance Assistant:
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar Finance Assistant role.
- Recent experience with NetSuite is essential for this position.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly and manage deadlines with confidence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills highly desirable.
