Finance Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and pro-active individual to join our team as a Finance Assistant. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional education and to work under the guidance of the Finance Manager, ensuring smooth financial operations.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Preparing bank reconciliations for review by the Finance Manager, ensuring all expenditure and income is accurately allocated according to the chart of accounts.
  • Preparing monthly payroll submissions and reconciliations for review, and submitting them to the outsourced payroll provider.
  • Assisting in the generation and issuance of termly fee billing and invoices using our pupil management system, with oversight from the Finance Manager.
  • Administering paperwork for all new school joiners, including collecting and processing direct debit guarantees.
  • Preparing termly and monthly direct debit instructions to collect fees, for review by the Finance Manager.
  • Administering early years funding applications and reporting, with oversight from the Finance Manager.
  • Performing any other finance-related duties as reasonably required by the Finance Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a finance role, preferably within an educational or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes including payroll, billing, and reconciliations.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under the guidance of the Finance Manager.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and pupil management systems.
