The client are a health-care, science and research business that are looking to grow their finance team. The role will report directly into the CFO and the business are looking for a Finance Assistant to join the team. The successful candidate will be studying towards their ACCA or CIMA qualifications and eager to learn. The role is mostly remote, however the successful candidate has the option to work 1-2 days per week in the office in the West End.

The client ar growing rapidly and are opening an additional 3 locations across the UK, on top of the 3 they currently have in Central London. The CFO will be your direct line manager and the role will have exposure to all areas of accounts. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take full control of the transnational finance, as well as play a large part in the monthly close of the business.
Description
The successful Finance Assistant will:
- End to end management of the Sales ledger and Credit Control functions
- Purchase ledger management: Post Invoices, match to POs, post payment runs, supplier statement recs
- Bank Reconciliation and dealing with refund requests
- Processing payroll, managing pension contributions, statutory deductions and respond to staff queries
- Management of the Prepayments and Accruals schedules
- Support the CFO in the management of the month end process, taking accounts up to TB level
- Ensuring General Ledger entries are accurate and the ledgers are well maintained (posting of journals)
- Preparation and submission of the quarterly VAT report and payment
- Supporting the CFO with ad-hoc queries and reports as required
- Support in the year end audit process
Profile
The successful Finance Assistant will have:
- 1-2 year's of experience in a similar role within a small finance team
- Strong Excel skills
- Prior working knowledge of the software Quickbooks (desirable, not essential)
- Studying towards the ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
