Junior Finance Assistant - Up to £30K + Financial Study SupportLocation: Liverpool Street, City of LondonWorking Hours: 8am to 5pm (Monday Work from Home, Tuesday-Friday office-based)
About the Role:Are you a detail-oriented and motivated individual seeking to kickstart your career in finance? As a Junior Finance Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting our Finance team, gaining exposure to a variety of accounting functions within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Invoicing: Responsible for the creation, approval, and sending of a high volume of sales invoices, including freelancer and client invoices, using Xero.
- Client and Freelancer Support: Assist in the client purchase order and freelancer timesheet process.
- Expense Reconciliations: Handle placement expense reconciliations with accuracy and efficiency.
- Credit Insurance Monitoring: Monitor client credit insurance limit usage and apply for new limits as required.
- Credit Control: Communicate with clients via phone and email regarding overdue sales invoices and send monthly statements to ensure timely payments.
- Payment Enquiries: Liaise with freelancers and clients on payment and invoicing enquiries to provide timely resolutions.
- Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations: Assist with posting and reconciling transactions across six accounts in three different currencies.
- Compliance Coordination: Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Ad Hoc Reporting: Assist the finance team with various ad hoc reporting requirements to support the business.
- Cross-Departmental Support: Build relationships and provide support to other core functions, including Marketing, Admin, and Sales teams.
Requirements:
- University graduate in Finance or Accounting.
- 1 year of experience in general accounting or finance practices (preferred).
- Part-qualified AAT or similar qualification (advantageous).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Xero is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to self-manage and follow up on tasks.
