Leading UK Charity | Finance Assistant
(Permanent/Hybrid/South East London)
Are you an organised and detail oriented individual with a passion for numbers and a desire to make a difference? A highly regarded national charity is looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team and support their vital work.
About the Role:As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the charity’s financial operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you’ll help maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, and support the preparation of financial reports, ensuring the charity can continue its mission to impact lives positively.
Key Responsibilities:

Process and reconcile purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

Handle invoices, expenses, and payment processing.

Monitor and reconcile bank transactions.

Support the finance team with budgeting and forecasting activities.

Assist with financial audits and compliance reporting.

Respond to finance related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
About You:

A good understanding of basic accounting principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and finance software (experience with Sage Line 50 is a plus).

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

The ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.

A passion for supporting a meaningful cause.
Desirable:

AAT qualification (or working towards) or equivalent experience.

Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role.
