The Role
A? brand new and exciting opening for an ambitious and passionate accountant to join a newish group finance function with a growing and fast paced renewables energy group based in London with around 15 UK sites and major construction project underway in the US. The primary purpose of the role is to support the group function which will involve a range of activities from the control of new supplier take on processes through to preparing the funding requests to the parent company to assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts for 2 entities.
Key Responsibilities
Treasury
Review and consolidate the regional monthly funding requests for the Reporting Manager to review.Prepare loan reconciliations.Setup intercompany funding transfers and payments to ultimate parent company.Maintain cash pool.Responsibility for opening bank accounts.Preparation of all loan documentation.Assisting on working capital management.Cashflow forecast preparation.Lead on any ad-hoc treasury related projects.
Management & Year End AccountingOwnership of the month end bookkeeping activities for 2 entities.Assist the Group Reporting Manager in the monthly group consolidation.Assist in the preparation of year end accounts for 2 entities.
Financial ControlProcess the addition of new vendors and customers to Business Central, ensuring the appropriate level of Due Diligence has been carried out ahead of approval by Group Corporate Controller.Maintain and update the vendor and customer data contained in the Business Central Masterfile.Support with processing of group invoices on Business Central
Financial Policies & ProceduresMonitor policy reviews and updates - make the relevant changes that have been agreed.
Corporate RegisterMaintain and update the groupwide corporate registers, sending monthly request e-mails to relevant parties to ensure the register remains up to date.
ProjectsSupport the Group Reporting Manager in a number of highly visible projects already in the pipeline.
Successful ApplicantPart accounting qualified/relevant accounting experience.Enthusiasm and agility - an ability to adapt to the developing business needs.Collaborative - the candidate will be working closely with the reporting manager and will be working with many people from different parts of the business.An inquisitive mind - we are improving the financial controls, and a successful candidate will have a drive for seeking improvement.A yearn to learn -this is an interesting business going through a growth phase, there will be many things for the finance assistant to learn.Effective organisation skills - an awareness of the status of the various tasks and activities is required.Highly proficient spreadsheet skills; a proven ability to manipulate large sets of data in Excel.Desirable: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Jet reporting.
