I am delighted to be partnered with an exceptional London based law firm in their search for a Head Cashier to join their London office. The roles reports in an experienced head of finance and inherits a team of 4 experienced cashiers.

Day duties of the role:

  • Supervise the core cashiering team, including conducting staff appraisals, fostering professional growth, and organizing work schedules.
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee cashiering operations, providing guidance on firm policies and ensuring compliance.
  • Demonstrate best practices in daily cashiering and serve as a technical resource for the team.
  • Act as the main point of contact with bankers for daily cashiering and treasury activities.
  • Administer the Aderant workflow system for cashiering requests and manage the virtual credit card system for office payments.
  • Educate fee earners and staff on cashiering procedures as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations, collaborating closely with the Senior Compliance Officer.
  • Work with the Head of Finance and Finance Systems Manager to improve cashiering processes and implement finance projects.
  • Assist the Assistant Accountant with Accounts Payable functions, including supplier and expense payments, and provide support when necessary.
  • Aid the Head of Finance with all cashiering-related matters as required.

The right candidate will have:

  • Over five years of experience in a busy law firm handling client transaction, with familiarity in Aderant Expert (CMS) and Barclays Internet Banking (BIB)/Dotnet.
  • Extensive legal cashiering experience, with current knowledge of SAR and VAT.
  • Excellent skills in numeracy, communication, and time management.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Completed professional development through relevant training bodies such as IFLM, AAT, MBL, or others.
