Our long-standing client secondary school based in the London borough of Hackney are widely regarded as one of London's leading teacher training schools. You will have the chance from September 2025 to join their SCITT (Salaried Teacher Training). Gaining invaluable classroom experience from now till July 2025, this is a full time Monday to Friday role, typically 8:30am till 4:00pm.
You will have the opportunity to work across KS3, KS4 & KS5, within Geography working with students 1-2-1 helping to increase attainment, work with students in groups running "interventions" offering targeted support for students struggling in Geography, using your subject knowledge from university to assist them. The school will utilise you to support students with SEN and in other subjects, but this will be a minimal part of your timetable, to give you the complete "school" and "teacher" experience ahead of September.
We are looking for the following as an Aspiring Geography Teacher + Paid Teacher Training:
- A graduate from a Russell group university - achieving a 1st Class or 2:1 Classification
- Strong Academic Track Record - A-Bs at A-Level etc
- An intense passion and desire to inspire young people
- A deep understanding of challenges pupils face in inner London schools
- Long-term ambitions to work within education whether that's: Teaching, Education Policy / Research, Lecturing, Educational Psychology or similar ambitions
- Resilience, positivity and a can-do attitude in the face of day-to-day challenges
- Personality is VITAL
