As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity in students' learning when their regular teacher is absent. You will be responsible for supervising students, ensuring they stay on task with pre-prepared work, and managing classroom behaviour effectively. This position is ideal for individuals who are looking to gain experience in the education sector or for those with a background in working with young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes across a range of subjects during periods of teacher absence, ensuring students remain engaged and complete set tasks.
- Manage student behaviour, ensuring that a positive and productive learning environment is maintained.
- Provide support and encouragement to students, helping them to stay focused and achieve the objectives of the lesson.
- Ensure the classroom is prepared and ready for the lesson, including setting up any required resources or materials.
- Provide pastoral care and support for students, ensuring their welfare and safeguarding needs are met.
- Liaise with teaching staff, heads of departments, and other members of the school team to ensure continuity of learning.
- Support the delivery of in-class activities, assisting with small groups of students or providing individual support as needed.
- Monitor and track student progress during lessons, providing feedback to teaching staff on student behaviour and engagement.
