English and Performing Arts Teacher

The School and Role
They is looking looking to recruit an outstanding English and Performing Arts Teacher! They are looking for an ambitious, energetic and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of their pupils. The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs.
You will be teaching in an SEN Secondary setting across Key Stages. You will be working with class sizes of between 5-10 young people and will be teaching no more than 25 lessons per week. You will spend the majority of the time teaching English with a smaller amount of time teaching Performing Arts (Music, Drama and Art).
The School is a purpose-built day school for young people with autistic spectrum disorders. The spacious and modern building has been specifically designed to accommodate up to 70 young people with autistic spectrum disorders. The classrooms are set up for specialist subjects including information technology, art, food technology, science and music, together with exclusive sensory and therapy rooms/suites.
Main responsibilities:
- To carry professional duties covered by the latest School Teachers Pay and Conditions document. The post holder will be expected to undertake duties in line with the professional standards for qualified teachers and uphold the professional code of the General Teaching Council for England.
- Teach a class of pupils and ensure planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
- Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom
- Provide timely and accurate reports to all stakeholders including SLT, Governors (as required) and parent/carers.
- Provide accurate assessments of learning and progress and matched against aspirational and appropriate targets.
- Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom and to promote the schools mission statement, developing potential, touching hearts and engaging minds.
