Roles and responsibilities of an English Teacher - Hackney

• Develop lesson plans that meet the curriculum goals and meet the core objectives and principles
• Meet the diverse needs of students by delivering lessons using differentiated instructional techniques that are appropriate to the academic level
• Educate students about literature and promote their appreciation of it
• Engage students in reading aloud, discussions, and debates to develop their verbal skills
• Developing students' writing skills
• Provide opportunities for critical thinking development
• Ensure that the classroom environment is safe and flexible in order for students to learn effectively
• Establish a collaborative and independent working environment for students
• Ensure that students' behaviour conforms to school and district policies and promotes classroom learning
• Using a variety of methods, track and monitor student learning
• Grade assessments and assignments
• Adapt instruction methods to meet individual needs as performance and progress are monitored
• Inform parents or guardians about students' academic progress and social and behavioural issues
• Engage in training sessions and meetings with staff

About the School- English Teacher - Hackney

In order to be considered for this permanent English Teacher position, the candidate must have experience teaching Key Stages 3 - 4 as well as ideally Key Stage 5. In order to be an ideal English teacher/teacher of English, you will be passionate about the curriculum and eager to explore new and improved ways of teaching topics and spark students' interest in them. Furthermore, you will be joining an excellent English department that likes to share ideas and resources with one another, so you will need to be a strong team player who can work well within a team.
