About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our dynamic secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage students through the study of English Language and Literature, nurturing their creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, ensuring students are well-prepared for GCSE and A-Level examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons that cater to a range of abilities.
  • Teach a rich curriculum that covers both English Language and Literature, fostering a love for reading, writing, and analysis.
  • Prepare students for national assessments such as GCSEs and A-Levels, using innovative teaching methods to ensure academic success.
  • Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and interventions where necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work and resources within the English department.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as reading clubs, debate teams, and literary events to enrich students’ learning experiences.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualifications.
  • A degree in English or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge of both English Language and Literature, with experience teaching at secondary level.
