Location: Hackney
Salary: £185 - £265 per day
Start Date: April 2025
Contract: Long Term, Full Time

GSL Education London Branch is looking for an English Teacher to join a coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to inspire students and support their academic progress. English Teacher Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that motivates students.
• Prepare students for GCSE and A-level English exams with effective teaching strategies.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to support their development.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
• Work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards in the English department.
• Encourage a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking in students.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.
• Follow the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies.

English Teacher Requirements:

• Must hold UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• At least 2-3 years of UK-based teaching experience in secondary schools.
• Strong knowledge of the English curriculum up to A-level.
• Ability to inspire and challenge students to achieve their best.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• A passion for English literature and language.
• A valid DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
