GSL Education London Branch are looking for a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join a fantastic mixed secondary school in Barking and Dagenham. This is a great opportunity for a skilled Geography Teacher to inspire students and make a real impact on their learning journey.

About the Role
As a Geography Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that develop students’ understanding of physical and human geography. You will create interactive learning experiences, encouraging students to think critically about environmental issues, globalisation and cultural diversity. Working alongside a dedicated humanities department, you will foster a curiosity about the world while supporting students to achieve their academic potential.
Responsibilities of the Geography Teacher:
- Plan and teach engaging Geography lessons to secondary school students.
- Cover topics such as climate change, ecosystems and human geography.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including maps, case studies and fieldwork.
- Assess students’ progress and support them in achieving their best results.
- Work with other teachers to develop an engaging curriculum.
- Encourage students to ask questions and think about real-world issues.
Requirements of the Geography Teacher:
- A qualified teacher status (QTS) with a specialisation in Geography, or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4 within UK secondary schools.
- A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- The ability to use technology and interactive resources to enhance student engagement.
- A passion for Geography, with a commitment to inspiring students to develop a global perspective.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
