Head of Design and Technology
A well respected secondary school based in Northwood, Hillingdon are looking for a Head of Design and Technology teacher to start after Easter 2025.
School are looking for someone to start on a permanent contract.
This position is full time but school are open to part time applicants. Working hours will be discussed at the interview stage.
Salary will match outer London UPS plus relevant TLR.
School has available parking spaces.
Head of Design and Technology:
- Oversee the strategic direction, leadership, and development of Design Technology throughout the school, ensuring all students are actively encouraged to reach their full potential.
- Foster a positive culture for Design Technology across the school and create an energetic, enthusiastic environment within the department.
- Lead, manage, and inspire the Design Technology team to maintain a positive, productive, and effective working atmosphere.
- Manage the planning, teaching, staffing, and resource allocation for impactful lessons in the department, ensuring high standards of achievement in Design Technology while adhering to the departmental budget.

Qualifications and Person Specification:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A relevant degree
- A highly skilled, enthusiastic, and qualified Design Technology teacher with a strong passion for teaching, capable of instructing Graphic Products or Product Design at A Level.
- Possesses strong leadership abilities while also being an effective and collaborative team member.
- Builds positive relationships with students and takes pleasure in supporting their learning and growth, regardless of their ability.
- Demonstrates a proven track record of successful teaching and a deep understanding of the latest advancements in Design Technology, along with relevant assessment requirements.
