We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of Year to join a vibrant girls' secondary school in the London Borough of Newham. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and provide pastoral care to a cohort of 270 students, helping them reach their full potential both academically and personally.Key Responsibilities:
  • To provide the appropriate support required for all students to engage in their learning and contribute positively to school life
  • Monitor and support the academic progress, behaviour, and emotional well-being of the cohort.
  • Encourage, support and develop students' ability to model the high standards reflected in these values in lessons, in and around school and beyond.
  • Lead year group assemblies, events, and enrichment activities to foster student engagement and development.
  • Work with colleagues to regularly analyse behaviour and academic data relating to the performance of the year group and identify individuals and cohorts of students that need intervention or support and implement strategies in address this.
  • Maintain strong communication with students, staff, and parents to promote positive outcomes.

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
