History Teacher

Location: Tower Hamlets

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic History Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This role requires teaching History across KS3 and KS4, alongside KS3 RE and Year 8 Geography. The successful candidate will demonstrate passion for humanities education, creativity in lesson delivery, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities of a History Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging History lessons for KS3 and KS4 pupils.
  • Teach KS3  Year 8 RE and Geography with an adaptable and inclusive approach.
  • Assess, monitor, and record students' progress in line with school policies.
  • Create a stimulating classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
  • Participate in department meetings, parent evenings, and extracurricular activities.
  • Ensure adherence to safeguarding and child protection standards.

Required Qualifications for a History Teacher:

  • A relevant degree and recognised teaching qualification in the UK (QTS or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
