We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspiring English teacher to join the English department as our Lead Practitioner in English. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional lessons and actively contribute to enhancing the overall teaching standards within the department. This is regarded as a leadership position within the team.
We would welcome applications from teachers with QTS, QTLS and at least four years teaching experience.
Our school is a co-educational secondary academy based in Brent, for students aged 11 - 18. It has an established reputation for a strong focus on academic excellence. Over the last five years we have been the highest-achieving non-denominational school in Brent.

Requirements
Qualifications and Training:

•    Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree. 
•    Demonstrate outstanding teaching practice and excellent behaviour management. 
•    Have experience of lesson observations and giving robust feedback. 
•    Ability to use data to track student achievement and to identify interventions needed


Experience:
•    Ability to teach English Literature and Language from Ks3-Ks4. 
•    Ability to mark assessments effectively and provide meaningful feedback. 
•    Experience working with students with SEND. 
•    Ability to work effectively with Teaching Assistants. 
•    Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload.


Professionalism
•    A reliable and dependable colleague. Smart presentation.
•    Good timekeeping. 
•    A positive role model for students.


Quality of relationships
•    Ability to lead and work collaboratively with members of a large team. 
•    Outstanding teacher pupil relationships.
