Exciting Opportunity: Math Teacher for SEMH Secondary School in Merton

We are seeking a committed Math Teacher to deliver engaging lessons aligned with the UK Curriculum and relevant exam boards. This role is based in Merton, with immediate start dates and options for long-term or permanent placements available.

What We're Looking For
  • Essential Qualifications (Non-Negotiable):
    • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
    • Applicants with QTLS or a PGCE may also be considered.
    • Applications without these qualifications will not be considered.
  • Desirable Experience:
    • Experience teaching students with SEMH or SEN needs.
    • A genuine passion for supporting SEMH students and their unique educational journeys.
  • Candidates must have a clear DBS or be willing to obtain one.
  • Sponsorships are not applicable for this role.
Job Roles & Expectations

As a Math Teacher in this SEMH school, your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching & Curriculum Delivery:
    • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Mathematics aligned with the UK Curriculum and exam board specifications.
    • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs and abilities of SEMH students.
  • Planning & Marking:
    • Prepare engaging lessons and assess students' progress with constructive feedback.
    • Ensure lessons are designed to support individual learning objectives.
  • Classroom Management:
    • Teach small class sizes effectively, with the support of at least one dedicated Teaching Assistant.
    • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages academic and emotional growth.
  • Individualised Support:
    • Develop and implement strategies to address the specific needs of SEMH students, ensuring every learner is supported.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to create tailored educational plans.
  • Professional Duties:
    • Fulfill all duties equivalent to a permanent full-time teacher.
