GSL Education works closely with a specialised education service designed to meet the unique needs of students with SEND and SEMH. This school is focused on fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment where students can flourish both academically and personally, providing the support and encouragement needed to help them reach their full potential.

Main Duties:

  • Design and deliver Maths lessons that engage students with SEMH and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Create and implement tailored learning plans, adjusting teaching techniques to suit each student’s individual needs.
  • Promote a nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages emotional growth and academic curiosity.
  • Work closely with fellow teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure the holistic development of each student.
  • Assess student progress regularly, offering feedback and modifying teaching methods as necessary.
  • Participate in broader school activities, contributing to a welcoming and cohesive school community.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Maths or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Maths to students in special educational settings, particularly with SEMH and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Strong knowledge of adapting instruction for diverse learning needs and effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
