About the role- Maths Teacher - Southwark

• Encourage pupils' curiosity, interest, and enjoyment of mathematics, as well as enhancing, maintaining, and stimulating their interest in mathematics
• Provide access to Mathematics that is equitable to all pupil groups and that ensures that they are able to succeed in their academic endeavors
• It is imperative that you plan and prepare well-structured, well-presented lessons that are suitable for the abilities of your students and related to your curriculum in order to achieve success in the classroom.
• As a teacher, you should ensure that your classroom is structured in such a way as to promote learning while maintaining an environment that is stimulating for students
• It is your responsibility as a teacher to instil in each of your students that you expect them to work hard and generate enthusiasm for the subject you are teaching if you are to succeed
• If a student was experiencing pastoral difficulties or needed additional support, you would assist the Head of Faculty and Learning Support in serving the needs of the student. In addition, you would also work with the form tutors and the House Heads if a student had special educational needs.
• In order to maintain high standards of behaviour among students, it is essential that you encourage positive, proactive approaches to study, as well as build productive relationships with them.
