A well-established creative industry training provider in East London is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Teacher to join our team. We deliver vocational study programmes, apprenticeships, and adult learning courses, alongside running a thriving independent school for 14-16-year-olds who have disengaged from formal education.

About the Role: Position: Maths Teacher (GCSE & Functional Skills) Hours: 21.5 hours across 3 days per week (52 weeks per year) Salary: Pro rata of £30,000 - £44,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Part-time, Permanent Location: East London Annual Leave: Pro rata of 35 days annual leave plus UK bank holidays

Key Responsibilities: *Plan and deliver engaging lessons in GCSE Maths (Edexcel), Functional Skills Maths L1 & L2, and Higher (Core Principles) Maths (NextGen). *Foster a positive learning environment and support students in achieving their potential. *Track learner progression and provide feedback using Google Classroom, Arbor MIS, and other assessment tools. *Promote student welfare, safety, and safeguarding, reporting concerns via CPOMS. *Maintain strong communication with guardians regarding student progress. *Attend team meetings, training, and professional development sessions. *Prepare learners effectively for examinations and future career pathways. Essential Qualifications & Skills: *Maths and English GCSE (Grade 4/C or equivalent Level 2) *Degree or relevant qualification in Maths or a related subject *Level 5 teaching qualification preferred (relevant experience will be considered) *Strong knowledge of Ofsted framework and ability to create engaging lessons. *Excellent classroom management, organisational skills, and communication skills. *A passion for supporting young learners, especially those facing challenges such as high FSM (free school meals) and poverty rates. Desirable Skills: *Experience teaching FE students or in a similar educational setting. *Experience working in a creative industry or entrepreneurial role. *Ability to integrate mathematical thinking into vocational and industry settings. *Familiarity with diverse teaching strategies to support different learning needs.
