GSL Education are seeking a Multidisciplinary Secondary Teacher for a specialised provision in Islington, designed for students who require additional support due to medical conditions like anxiety and depression. This unique role offers the opportunity to teach a range of subjects to small class groups, providing individualised attention and fostering a supportive learning environment.
About the Role:
As a Multidisciplinary Secondary Teacher, you will you will teach KS3 students in core subjects such as Maths, English, Humanities, ICT on a daily basis. Working with very small classes, you will have the chance to build meaningful connections with students and offer the focused guidance they need to succeed academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities for a Multidisciplinary Secondary Teacher:
- Teach engaging and well-structured lessons in Maths, English, Humanities, and ICT, adapted to meet the individual needs of students with medical conditions.
- Support students in overcoming personal challenges related to their health, providing a nurturing and understanding classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate with support staff and other professionals to develop strategies that support students’ academic progress and emotional well-being.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback, helping students achieve their personal and academic goals.
- Maintain open communication with parents, caregivers, and the wider school team regarding students' progress and needs.
Requirements for a Multidisciplinary Secondary Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience in secondary education.
- Ability to teach KS3 Maths, English, Humanities, and ICT.
- Experience or interest in working with students with medical or mental health needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, flexible approach to teaching.
- Capacity to inspire and motivate students in a small-group setting.
