GSL Education are looking for a qualified and passionate Outreach English Teacher to provide 1:1 tuition to students with SEN and SEMH needs in their homes in Barking and Dagenham. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher dedicated to supporting students facing barriers to education.

As an Outreach English Teacher, you will be responsible for providing personalised 1:1 tuition to students with SEN and SEMH needs, delivering tailored English lessons up to GCSE level in their homes. This role involves adapting teaching strategies, building student confidence, and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities of the Outreach English Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and structured English lessons up to GCSE level.
  • Provide tailored learning support to students with SEN and SEMH needs in a home-based setting.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles and challenges.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes confidence and progress.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring personalised learning objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with schools, parents, and professionals to provide holistic educational support.

Requirements of the Outreach English Teacher:

  • Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching English up to GCSE level.
  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and families.
  • A patient, adaptable, and resilient approach to teaching.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
