Are you a versatile and dedicated Physical Education Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children? We are seeking a Special Educational Needs, Physical Education Teacher for a vibrant primary school in Lambeth, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in KS1-2.
In this rewarding Physcial Education Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment tailored to the unique needs of each student. Your expertise as a Physical Education teacher will foster students growth in physical development and physical well - being through movement that incorporates relaxation, movement and development of fine motor skills.
The successful Physical Education Teacher applicant would be joining an outstanding rated SEN school in Lambeth for children with severe learning difficulties. This SEN school offers provision for pupils from 4-19 years, who have severe learning differences.
Physical Education Teacher Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement personalised physical education lessons that focus on movement, enjoyment, therapy and making choices.
- Use Physical Education and Physical Development to enhance students independence and enjoyment.- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the Physical Education teacher in the classroom.- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom
Physical Education teacher Qualifications- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.- Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD.- Experience working in an SEN school is preferred but NOT essential.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
