School Type: Secondary

We are looking for a qualified teacher to work in our reputable PRU school in South London. Children have Special Education Needs including ADHD, SEMH, EBD, Dyslexia and others and TA's are available for classroom support. You will harness a supportive and engaging environment for all students with support from classroom TA's. The Class sizes are small, with an average of 12-14 students per class. The school delivers highest level of education to students from KS2 through to KS4, supporting young people who are unable to access mainstream education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Social Emotional Mental Health experience
  • Experience of teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
  • Positive role model to support communication, with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
  • Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students
  • Experience of working with challenging behaviour

Requirements:

  • The passion to teach and inspire young people during a crucial stage of their personal and academic development.
  • Experience working in an SEN school or PRU ( Preferable )
  • Hold a QTS or QTLS
  • Experience working with disengaged students who have additional needs either in mainstream or SEND settings
  • A nurturing, patient, empathetic and holistic approach
