Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join our thriving Humanities Department. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment. This role is suitable for both experienced educators and newly qualified teachers who are enthusiastic about contributing to the academic and personal development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging RE lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting achievable targets.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Contribute to the development of the RE curriculum and participate in departmental meetings and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student learning and well-being.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities and school events, promoting the ethos and values of Hendon School.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Religious Education, Theology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience of teaching RE at Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for religious education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
  • Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
